Dr. Griffin is the Associate Laboratory Director for Environmental Stewardship at SRNL. He is responsible for the oversight and development of the SRNL research and development portfolio in environmental cleanup, an $80+ million portfolio covering national and internal programs, primarily for DOE's Office of Environmental Management.

Dr. Griffin holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Chemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology. He joined SRNL in 1987 and has served in positions of increasing responsibility, primarily in the areas of high-level waste processing, radiochemistry, analytical chemistry, and nuclear material management.

Since 2012, Dr. Griffin has served as managing director for SRNL support to Japanese remediation efforts in and around the Fukushima Daiichi Power Station.
