Dr. Paul Bertsch is also a professor of environmental geochemistry and soil physical chemistry at the University of Georgia. He serves as an affiliate faculty membr in engineering at the University of Georgia; as an adjunct professor in the marine biomedicine and environmental sciences program at the Medical University of South Carolina; and as an adjunct professor of environmental systems engineering and science at Clemson University.
Dr. Bertsch currently serves on three National Academy of Sciences committees dealing with issues in earth and environmental sciences, the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory, and on a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Task Force to develop criteria for natural attenuation of inorganic contaminants. He has been elected a fellow of the American Society of Agronomy and the Soil Science Society of America. He is an active member of the American Chemical Society, the American Geophysical Union, the Clay Minerals Society, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
