Shelly Wilson - Bio

Shelly Wilson is the Federal Facilities Liaison for the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC). In this role Shelly is responsible for coordinating activities involving federal facilities and is the primary contact for federal facility cleanup, permitting, and compliance issues.

Shelly represents SCDHEC in national federal facility forums through the National Governors Association and Environmental Council of the States. In 2013 Shelly led the development of DHEC Permit Central and began assisting new businesses with the permitting process. Shelly has 23 years of experience with SCDHEC, largely in the area of hazardous and radioactive waste facility operation and remediation. Shelly's past experience ranges from regulation development and planning to oversight of Department of Energy activities and commercial hazardous waste management facilities.

A lifelong resident of South Carolina, Shelly graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Shelly resides in Columbia and has one daughter.
