Dr. Ann C. Carmichael is the Dean of the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie Regional Campus, a position that she assumed in February 2000. Prior to her appointment, Dr. Carmichael served the Salkehatchie Campus for nine years as Director of the Salkehatchie Walterboro Campus and Coordinator of Development, overseeing the institution's five-year capital campaign.
She earned her Ph.D. in counseling from USC in 1986 and has over 30 years' experience in higher education. Prior to joining the USC Salkehatchie administration in 1991, she served as Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Services at Charleston Southern University. She currently serves on the boards of many organizations, including the Colleton Medical Center Board of Trustees; the Southern Carolina Regional Development Alliance Advisory Board; and Chairman of the Savannah River Site Redevelopment Authority Board. She is an active member of the First Baptist Church of Walterboro.
